This was our last stop of the weekend during Livermore's First Barrel Tasting Event and since we were a part of the "last" barrel tasting group before they closed, I think this is the first time we've left Fenestra without buying any wine! :)

Well, we were just there the weekend prior for the Cabernet & Chocolate event...so we're still not out of Fenestra wine yet...

Fenestra Winery is hosting their "Chocolate and Cabernet Wine Tasting" this weekend and being just a short walk from home, we couldn't resist attending! After tasting 22 samples of their wine and a plateful of munchies, the winners today were their Grenache and True Red wines (we took home bottles of those!) and the Chocolate and Almond Stuffed Figs...mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, MMM!!!

Chocolate and Cabernet Weekend

A grand event for chocolate lovers and wine lovers alike! Our red wines are paired with different chocolate dishes, both savory recipes and sweet chocolate treats. $10 gets you a logo glass, buffet plate and a decadent pairing for your taste buds! ($5 for non-drinkers and children.)

FENESTRA FANATIC BONUS: Members of the Fenestra Fanatics can get in one hour early (11 AM) on Saturday, 3/21 only!

We spent the afternoon at Fenestra's Annual Holiday Wine Tasting event...gorgeous weather, friendly pourers and awesome wine. A total of 24, yes, t-w-e-n-t-y-f-o-u-r delightful tastes of Fenestra's finest!

Out of the 24 wines I tasted, I enjoyed about 20 of them and took home 6:

1. 2006 Malbec
2. 2005 Zinfandel
3. 2006 Touriga (Fenestra Fanatic offering)
4. 2006 Petite Sirah (Fenestra Fanatic offering)
5. 2007 Sweet Viognier
6. 2003 Port

I also bought a box of their own Port-filled chocolate truffles, which I will try later on tonight (why does chocolate always taste better late at night?)

Thinking about going back tomorrow for some more wine...and chocolate! :)

My FAVORITE Livermore winery!!! I love their wine, the owners and pourers are the friendliest people who make you feel welcome whether it's your first visit or you're a Fenestra Fanatic...and it's in my backyard! I totally agree with the other reviews on all the F-R-E-E tastings...you definitely can't beat that! This place always seems crowded and with good reason...
