Suede Blue - Roseville, CA
1400 Eureka Road
Roseville, CA 95661
Suede Blue is at the corner of Eureka Road and N. Sunrise Avenue, in the location previously known as Carver's Steaks and Chops (which went out of business in late 2008). A couple of our friends had eaten there recently and were raving about the steak, so we came here with them to experience it for ourselves.
Suede Blue did not disappoint! He had the steak au poivre (excellent) and I had the ribeye with blue cheese crumbles, which was sublime! The au gratin potatoes were so-so, but they were the only thing that was not 5-star about our experience here. The service was top-notch and the manager even visited our table to ask for our feedback.
The dessert we shared was called a "chocolate souffle" (which they suggest you order 20 min. in advance) and although it was delicious, it was not a souffle. It was actually a chocolate molten lava cake...but we all enjoyed it, anyway! There was a hint of nutmeg in the cake, a nice surprise, and the cake was served with a scoop of Andes Mint ice cream...a perfect accompaniment!
We'll certainly be back to Suede Blue...and next time I will try what I almost ordered: the Swordfish (chipotle honey glaze, topped with grilled pineapple mango salsa & jalapene creme fresh on creamy coconut curry risotto).
P.S. Their coconut martinis are a MUST have!!!
